Difference between white and black overlays

The abrasive in the white pads is made of aluminum oxide, which makes them more flexible, soft and resistant to abrasion. The black pads are made of silicon carbide, which makes them harder but also more brittle.

White pads have fine, round abrasive grains that do not damage the nail plate. Black pads have sharply pointed abrasive grains that clean themselves during processing.

The white caps have a stearic coating that prevents clogging with organic dust. The black caps do not have such a coating.

White overlays are better for filing dry nails, while black ones work well for filing wet nails.

The white color of the overlay is more hygienic during work than black, the file does not show streaks or scratches after filing, and the light abrasive grains are not visible on the artificial material during nail extension.
